How to text with iMessage on Windows 10
Consider this scenario. Everyone you know has an iPhone. You succumb to peer pressure and not only buy a new iPhone but eventually a MacBook. The problem is, you work on a Windows 10 device all day and the incoming text messages have you unlocking the iPhone every other minute.
All that phone lifting interrupts your daily workflow. So we’re going to show you how to text with iMessage on Windows 10, so your eyes stay glued to your PC. Read more: How to text from Windows 10 using an Android phone
Configuring Messages for iPhone

This method probably won’t last for long as Apple will continue to evolve iMessage and block this method in the future. Since this method of using iMessage on PC requires a jailbroken iPhone, there is no guarantee of the security of your messages, so we highly advise against using it. This method isn’t supported by Apple, and we generally don’t recommend it from a security perspective. You should never log in to your Apple ID on a platform that claims to support iMessage on a platform not supported by Apple. If so, your encryption can not be guaranteed.
iMessage Group Chat on PC
Group chats on iMessage have become very popular as Apple has added support for GIFs, stickers, etc. Apple hasn’t done a great job of building tools to help mute iMessage notifications, hiding conversations, etc. Email already supports all of these features, but they aren’t done in an easy-to-understand way for most users. Without a native PC app for iMessage, there’s no supported way to use it. To get started, you’ll need a Mac running iMessage and a PC that is always connected to the internet. If you have a jailbroken iPhone, you might consider using Cydia to access iMessage on your PC. If you have a jailbroken iPhone, go to CydiaFree.com to get started. It’s worth noting that you’ll need to pay $4 to iMessage on PC, and this method is not supported by Apple. After the installation of Cydia, open Settings and go to General to allow a new configuration profile creation. You will have to create a username and password for Cydia. Configuring Messages for iPhone

Head over to the Chrome Remote Desktop web app.
Click on the blue download button under Share this screen to download the Chrome Remote Desktop extension. You’ll need to click Add to Chrome to get the extension. With Chrome Remote Desktop up and running, make sure the Mac doesn’t go into sleep mode when idle. Navigate to System Preferences > Energy Saver and confirm the Prevent computer from sleeping automatically when the display is off option is checked. The Wake for Wi-Fi network access option should be toggled on as well.

You can do almost anything on your Mac remotely from a Windows 10 PC. The Mac and Windows 10 PC don’t need to be on the same network as long as both have an internet connection and you’re logged into your Google account.
If you have issues, Google suggests the following: Allow outbound traffic in your antivirus software.
Allow inbound UDP responses in your antivirus software.
Open TCP ports 443 (HTTPS) and 5222 (XMPP).

How to access iMessage on Windows 11/10 PC
Uniqueness is a major factor that sets Apple devices apart from their competitors. Apple has a closed ecosystem of apps and devices, and iMessage is an integral part of this ecosystem. This is why there is no official way to access iMessage on non-Apple devices, such as Android smartphones and Windows computers. Although there are tools to send SMS from PC, iMessage is not one of them. Do you use iMessage on your iPhones or iPads and want the same experience on your Windows computer?
Unfortunately, there’s no iMessage on Windows 11 or Windows 10 operating system version at this time. However, I’ll show you three easy ways to access it on your Windows computer. We will discuss the following methods in this guide:
How to get iMessage on Windows 11/10
With iMessage unavailable for non-Apple devices, there is no official way to access it on your Windows 11/10 computer. However, there are two unofficial ways that work like a charm. In this guide, you will learn how to access iMessage on your PC using the following methods:
Use iMessage on Windows with Chrome Remote Desktop. Access iMessage on Windows by using iPadian Emulator.
Without further ado, let’s get right to it.
1] Use iMessage on Windows with Chrome Remote Desktop
The first way to use iMessage on Windows 11 is with Chrome Remote Desktop. For this, you also need a MacBook with iMessage installed on it.
Do note that this Google Chrome option works with earlier iOS versions only and does not work anymore with iOS 15.
To begin, launch the Google Chrome browser on the MacBook and your Windows 11 computer. Next, download the Chrome Remote Desktop Chrome extension on both systems.
To commence the download, click the link and hit the Add to Chrome button. When prompted, click Add extension.
After installing the Chrome Remote Desktop extension on your Windows PC and MacBook, click on the icon on both systems to launch them.
In Chrome Remote Desktop, switch to the Remote Access tab and click on the Download icon in the bottom right corner of the Set up remote access section.
This downloads the Remote Access files, and you need this file from both systems. So, remember to do this on the MacBook and Windows PC.
On completion of the download, install the downloaded packages named Chrome Remote Desktop Host.pkg on the MacBook and Windows 11 PC separately.
Return to the Chrome Remote Desktop window on the Chrome browser on the MacBook and click on the Turn On button to allow remote access to the machine.
Still, on the MacBook, click on Remote Support and then click on the Generate Code button.
Next, head over to the Chrome Remote Desktop window on the Chrome browser on your Windows 11 computer and navigate to the Remote Support tab. This time, go to the Give Support section and enter the code generated from the MacBook.
Finally, launch iMessage on the MacBook, and you can now use the iMessage on your Windows 11 PC.
Not only does this let you use iMessage, but you can also access other applications installed on the MacBook using this method.
2] Access iMessage on Windows 11 by using iPadian Emulator
Emulators allow you to make use of software intended for a specific operating system on a different platform that otherwise would not have been compatible with the software.
The Windows operating system doesn’t have a native iMessage application, so we will use an emulator called iPadian Emulator to access iMessage on Windows 11. iPadian Emulator is not free. It’s a premium tool that costs $25 (one-time fee) to make use of it.
The iPadian emulator simulates the interface of iOS devices, such as iPads and iPhones on your computer. For this method, you would need Adobe Air installed on your computer. Follow the steps below to learn how.
iPadian Emulator is the primary tool for this method, so you start by downloading it from ipadian.net and installing it on your machine.
Next, launch the iPadian Emulator and look for the iMessages app on the home screen.
Open the iMessage app and proceed to do a number registration on iMessage.
Is iMessage Available for Windows?
iMessage is currently not available for Windows. iMessage is Apple’s instant messaging service that supports emojis, multimedia, message reactions, read receipts, and other features you see in conventional instant messaging apps like WhatsApp and Telegram. You can only use iMessage on Apple devices, such as iPhones, iPads, and MacBooks.
Why use iMessage?
iMessage comes preinstalled on every iPhone and iPad. So, it’s the default text messaging app for Apple users. When you send a text message, iMessage detects if the receiver has iMessage and if yes, it converts the text message into iMessage and sends it using internet data. As mentioned earlier, iMessage has loads of functions, similar to WhatsApp, Telegram, and other instant messaging apps.
When will iMessage be available on Windows 11?
iMessage will not be available on Windows 11 for the foreseeable future. This is thanks to Apple’s closed ecosystem. Over the years, Apple has built this reputation. However, things may change, and we see iMessage on PCs. The same thing happened with Blackberry Messenger. It was only available for Blackberry smartphones, but that changed as the company released the messenger app for Android and iPhones in 2013.
Can You Use iMessage on a Windows PC or Android Phone?
Want iMessage for Android or Windows? Unfortunately, it’s a lot more work than you might expect. Apple’s Messages app works only on Apple devices like Macs, iPhones, and iPads. No third-party apps can connect to iMessage. However, some good alternatives have similar functionality.
Apple doesn’t offer Messages on the web, either. That’s a shame—it could be part of the iCloud website like iCloud Drive, Notes, and Find My iPhone are.
Solutions That Don’t Work (Stay Away from iPadian)
Search for “iMessage on PC” or something similar on the web, and you’ll discover many websites offering a handful of bad solutions for running iMessage on a Windows PC. Here’s why they don’t work.
Some websites recommend you use Chrome Remote Desktop or another remote desktop tool. Yes, if you have a Mac, you can leave that Mac running, access it remotely from a PC, and use the Messages app (or any other Mac app) over the remote desktop connection. If you have a spare Mac lying around, this will work—but you probably don’t. This is a silly solution for almost everyone.
The same websites recommend you download something called “iPadian,” which is an “iOS and iPad simulator.” At first glance, it looks like a way to run the iPad’s iOS operating system on your desktop. But that’s deceiving. It isn’t an emulator—it’s a “simulator” that can’t actually run real iOS apps. You can’t run Messages or any other apps. You can run some fake apps designed to look like an iPad. For this, the company behind iPadian charges money.
Stay away from iPadian. It doesn’t work at all, and it’s a waste of money. Sadly, there’s no way to run iMessage on a PC.
How to Use iMessage on Android (with a Mac)
If you own a Mac and have an Android phone, here’s a solution you can look into. AirMessage promises “iMessage for Android,” and it delivers. It’s a little complicated, though, and involves conscripting a Mac you own to function as a server.
Here’s how it works: You need a Mac, where you’ll install the AirMessage server. That Mac must remain running and connected to the internet at all times. You then install the AirMessage app on your Android phone. You can access iMessage through AirMessage on Android—your Mac does the heavy lifting; the AirMessage app communicates with it. As the device that’s actually connected to iMessage, your Mac is just sending messages back and forth.
For Mac owners with Android phones, AirMessage could be tempting. But you’ll want an always-on Mac with a stable internet connection. It’s an ordeal.
This isn’t an ideal solution—but it’s the best you can do. It won’t be worth it for most people.
How to Text from a PC with an Android Phone
If you have an Android phone and a Windows PC, you can text from your PC with the Your Phone app built into Windows 10. That’s one of the big draws of Apple’s Messages app—if you have an iPhone, you can text with your Mac. Well, if you have an Android phone, you can text from your Windows 10 PC.
You can even text from your PC with people using Apple’s Messages app, assuming they have an iPhone. You’ll just be one of those “green bubble” people, and you won’t have access to iMessage features like group iMessages and screen effects.
If you don’t use Windows 10, you can use another app like PushBullet to text from your PC. This is web-based, so it works on Windows 7 devices, Chromebooks, Linux systems, and even Macs.

Try Other Text Messaging Apps
While iMessage doesn’t work on Android or a Windows PC, many other text-messaging apps do. You could try to get your iMessage-using friends to switch to something like WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, Telegram, or any of the many other chat apps out there.
That may be a tall order if everyone else is using iMessage—but, in a mixed friend group with some iPhone users and some Android users, agreeing on a solution that everyone can use makes sense.
What about FaceTime?
There’s no way to use FaceTime on a Windows PC or Android phone, either. That’s a shame because Steve Jobs promised to make FaceTime “an open industry standard” back in 2010 when it was announced. Apple hasn’t done so and hasn’t said anything about the promise since.
