Where is jar.exe in Java Development Kit?

I downloaded and installed JDK from Java SE Development Kit 7 Downloads in “c:\jdk.1.7.0”, set variable path to “c:\jdk.1.7.0”, but using command for example:
jar xvf ..\src.zip
Gives me this error:
‘jar’ is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.
I’m reading Core Java volume 1 (9th edition). So here it stated to run firstly command:
javac -version
Then I got that same error. And in bin directory there were no javac.exe too, but I found java.exe and it worked. So does jar.exe is also changed to some another name or it somewhere else? It seems strange that this book is released this year and even names of files do not match in newest version or am I missing something here?..
P.S. I’m using windows 7 64 bit.

Chuyển đổi file JAR thành file EXE
Tuy nhiên, đối với PC, để chạy được file JAR quả là một điều khá khó khăn. Cách tốt nhất để làm được việc này là bạn nhờ đến một phần mềm có tên JAR2EXE giúp chuyển đổi tập tin từ JAR thành tập tin thực thi EXE trên máy tính.
Đầu tiên bạn truy cập vào địa chỉ http://jar2exe.codeplex.com/documentation để tải phần mềm về máy và sử dụng.
Tại giao diện của JAR2EXE, bạn nhấp vào nút ba chấm (…) dưới mục Select JAR file to convert để chỉ đường dẫn đến nơi chứa tập tin JAR muốn chuyển đổi và nhấp vào dấu 3 chấm dưới mục Output directory để chỉ đường dẫn đến nơi chứa tập tin EXE sau khi chuyển đổi. Cuối cùng nhấp vào nút Compile để tiến hành thực hiện chuyển đổi.
Để chắc ăn, bạn có thể nhấn vào nút Test để kiểm tra xem tập tin EXE sau khi chuyển đổi có thực thi được không, nếu được thì bạn có thể yên tâm chạy nó.

[Java] Xuất file jar và exe
Sau khi xây dựng phần mềm bằng java, chúng ta cần xuất ra file chạy dạng jar hoặc exe để có thể chạy trực tiếp như mọi phần mềm khác mà không phải vào eclipse hoặc netbean để run nó. Bài viết này sẽ hướng dẫn các bạn làm những công việc như vậy.
Ban đầu mình có 1 project Dijkstra như thế này và chúng ta sẽ thực iện tạo file jar từ eclipse và netbean, sau đó chuyển từ file jar sang exe nếu muốn (Vì file jar là file chạy được ngay giống exe rồi).
Tạo file jar trên eclipse
Các bước thực hiện như sau:
Trên eclipse chọn File -> Export -> Runnable JAR file
Tiếp theo chọn project hoặc chương trình cần xuất tại Launch Configuration và đặt tên file *jar tại Export Distination
Như hình trên là mình để nó tại Desktop.
Nếu bạn dùng windows thì giờ có thể mở như mọi chương trình khác. Nếu dùng linux thì mở terminal (hoặc cmd trong windows) lên di chuyển đến Desktop bằng lệnh cd:
cd Desktop
Chạy file bằng lệnh sau:
java -jar dijkstra.jar
Tạo file jar trên netbean
Trên netbean bạn thực hiện click chuột phải project cần xuất file jar, chọn clean and build. Vậy là xong, Giờ bạn vào project sẽ thấy thư mục dist, trong đó sẽ có file jar của project.
Chuyển từ file jar sang file exe bằng launch4j
Trước tiên các bạn download launch4j về (tìm trên google cho có phiên bản mới nhất) hoặc dùng phiên bản mình đang dùng tại đây. Cài đặt như các phần mềm bình thường và mở lên.
Tại giao diện của launch4j chúng ta thực hiện điều các thông số:
Tại tab basic, chúng ta điền các thông tin về đường dẫn file jar và file exe sau khi xuất
Tại tab jre các bạn điền thông tin về phiên bản nhỏ nhất để chạy chương trình (dạng x.x.x) và đường dẫn jre đính kèm nếu có.
Cuối cùng chọn biểu tượng bánh xe bên trên để xuất file exe.
